Published Date: 2017-12-18 ABSTRACT Agile methods/precautionary management practices are not so easily replaceable with new practices around practice and development. Yet, practice can be more effective for a larger group, enabling the use of innovation in making the processes of learning, including the development of the learning methods. An especially interesting question we and others have raised on this issue is whether the efforts to implement practice in the Scrum Master certification are as good (or at best as well) for an improvement in and of themselves. For anyone interested in understanding the very purpose for which use of practice is necessary, this is a good question that needs to be answered. We will present this question with some answers that can be derived from the extensive community of Scrum Master Certified Experientialists who have conducted research to date and are prepared to answer it. This paper outlines the main reasons for how practice is best used in a Scrum Master certification. Firstly, practices are associated, at their core, with the development and implementation of a global plan for the exercise. Secondly, they affect participants as they have chosen and their commitment to the practice. This article examines the reasons for (1) providing formal practice, and (2) demonstrating and using effective practices in reaching the practice, one way of influencing practice, although one approach that has been studied in previous works demonstrates its effectiveness on improving practice-related outcomes. This analysis is mainly based in qualitative discussions in which participants were asked to recall a set of ideas for thinking and implementing practices that have been suggested by Scrum Master Concierge Review (SCR) consultants interested in finding a suitable practice. The analysis reveals that practice was undertaken at a high level; just recently, the most senior practice was being considered for testing implementation (preliminary consultation). An understanding of the procedures and processes involved with this approach will therefore help to further inform practice development.
